The Arms Control Verification Research team at the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) has won a Ministry of Defence Chief Scientific Adviser Commendation Award.

A Reading-based anti-nuke body is calling for an independent inquiry into the fire at the atomic bomb factory in Aldermaston.
 
The Nuclear Information Service (NIS) said the fire last Tuesday night was a reminder that AWE Aldermaston “poses considerable risks to local communities”.
