This annex sets down the arrangements additional to the MOD/HSE Agreement for HSE activities including inspection, assessment and audit (hereafter called “inspection”) in relation to nuclear and radiological hazards against the requirements of the: 

• Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974


• Nuclear Installations Act 1965


• The Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999


• The Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations 2001


• The Nuclear Reactors (Environmental Impact Assessment for Decommissioning) Regulations 1999 


• The Atomic Weapons Establishment Act 1991 & Amendment Order 1396/1997

'1. Definitions
AWE PLC shall be the Atomic Weapons Establishment whose registered office is situated at Aldermaston, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 4PR Registration No: 02763902.
AWE PLC Site shall be deemed to include all premises operated by AWE PLC including the Aldermaston, Burghfield and Blacknest Sites.'
